A tumblelog is just what I’m looking for. In John C. Dvorak sense, it’s a blog sans the comments. It’s a blog with out all the fuss. According to tumblr’s analogy; If blogs are journals, tumblelogs are scrapbooks. Tumblr on the other hand is a free and easy to use tool for creating tumblerlogs.

Blogs are great, but most of the time, this blog for example, requires a lot of work. Being a responsible blogger you have to double check your sources and what not, you do not want to be held resposible for defamation or what not.

It actually takes time to post something on this blog but on tumblelogs you could just put things up with out any commitment. There is no commenting system so you don’t have to bother responding to comments. You don’t need to add friends buddy list, it’s not a social network. You don’t have to specify who you want to read your posting. No fuss.

Tumblr.com is a service that lets you have your own tumblelogs. Sign up in painless. You could choose to have your tumblelog on tumblr (yourname.tumblr.com) or on your own domain.

You will have six types of post to choose from, ‘regular post’ for normal post, ‘photo’ for you to post photos, ‘quote’ you can put up quotes, ‘link’ to add links, ‘conversation’ for interesting conversation you had and finally videos.

A simple concept being implemented in a simple way. Might not be for every one though.
