gvnew.jpgWe all have heard of the Google acquisition of YouTube. One of the biggest deals in 2006. Google however had already had their own video sharing service, the Google Video. I was asking back then, what will happen to YouTube, will Google re-brand YouTube into it’s Google Video brand? as what they did with Writely when they bought it.

It is clear that YouTube will stay as YouTube. Google has now make it possible to search YouTube videos with in Google Video site. It seems that Google is planing to turn Google Video as a video search service something similar to Google image search.

Google strength has always been on search and not community building. YouTube on the other hand owes its success in it’s community of users. Two Kings have gotten together and they keep doing what each of then does the best. It seems like a good deal.

Trying out the Google Video search box, Most of the result are YouTube videos that redirect to YouTube site. Then again how significant is searching on Google video? YouTube itself have a good search function. If you search for any thing video related on the web, YouTube links is sure to be on the result.

Will we see Google Adsense embedded on YouTube video next?
