Computer Wizardry, Esoteric Spirituality, and Mind-altering Substances

I’ve tried tons of web based RSS/feed reader out there. I have to say Newshutch.com is my current favorite at the moment. The reason is, it’s simple, it’s elegant, it’s less of a reader then the rest and it’s very usable.
Newshutch has a slick interface with Ajax and JavaScript effects that actually goes with the reading flow. It is a very straight-forward feed reader. You can import you OPML list of feeds from your current reader to Newshutch and start right away.
It only display the feeds that have new post that you haven’t read yet, feeds that have nothing new stays hidden. As you read you can mark the entry as read and it will go away. If there is a entry that you want to keep, you can flagged it or keep it as unread. Entries that you have flagged will be in the red flag section.
Newshutch also feels very fast as compare to other feed readers out there. One thing I notice is that when you select a feed it load 5 or 10 entries and as you read or mark or post as read or scroll down, you’ll see it will load the following entries.
Nice trick.
Of cause if you compare features between Newshutch and the rest, Newshutch is lacking. For example I would like to be able to search within all my feeds.
Overall I like how Newshutch doesn’t try to over complicated things, keeping it simple but yet still very much usable.

What do you feel about feed reader apps for your desktop, e.g. Net News Wire, Newsfire, etc? I got Newsfire in my MacHeist bundle and I’ve never used it.
I tried Newshutch, but it couldn’t even let me reorder my groups. I’m sticking to Bloglines for the moment..
I guess it depends on your reading habits. Newhutch kinna dictates your reading flow. It’s just a simple reader that gets your feed to you.
For desktop I’ve only used the Free ones, First was Safari itself, then switch to Net News Wire Lite (the free version) after that Vienna, but it gets pretty slow handling all my over 200 feeds.
