Computer Wizardry, Esoteric Spirituality, and Mind-altering Substances

Pardon the nagative vibe in this post. Based on this report on The Star, MCMC says we need to limit our Internet usage.
PETALING JAYA: Exercise discipline when using the Internet, in view of the limited bandwidth available.
It seems we need to exercise discipline when using the Internet.
Check only office mail and do not open a browser to surf the Internet unless you have to, advised MCMC head of communications Adelina Iskandar.
Come on now, the Internet is not water or oil, we don’t run out of the Internet. This is much worst the the idea of the Internet is a series of tubes. Why is MCMC which a a body that regulates the nation’s communication and multimedia industry imposing such silly idea? Do they know what actually is the internet?
So it’s true there were a serious earth quake that manage to damage one of the major cables that was used by most Asian communications company to connect to international links. Repairing work is currently on the way. While TM Net could say it wasn’t their fault, but the fact remains that TM Net doesn’t have a contingency plan, if I’m wrong about this and they do have a contingency plan, its a bad one at that.
Even without the disaster, our Internet connection service infrastructure has always been a crappy one.
If I could have it my way, I’ll wired the whole Malaysia with free unrestricted Internet access ala Google’s free Wi-fi project.
