Computer Wizardry, Esoteric Spirituality, and Mind-altering Substances

Look what drop by on my feed today. So it wasn’t a rumor after all. Google has acquired YouTube. $1.65 billion in stock-for-stock transaction. This is Google’s biggest buy in its 8 year history.
No doubt this is only part of Google’s mission, it’s plan for world domination!. What I meant to say was it’s part of Google’s mission to place Google ads on every single content on the Internet. That’s not it either, actually according to Eric Schmidt, YouTube acquisition is part of the Google ongoing mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
For those who are interested in knowing all the details of the acquisition, you can read about it over at TechCrunch, GigaOM, Read/WriteWeb, Mashable and every other blog covering web2.0.
As for me I’m more interested in seeing what will happen to Google Video? will it go away? Will we see Google Video service be tie-in with YouTube videos? Are we going to see ads on the start of every video?
