It happens that the Thai military with support from the King form a coalition called the Democratic Reform Council has overthrown the current Thai government lead my Thaksin while he was in New York for the UN General Assembly.

There are now a media blackout, and foreign news media got a limited coverage on the whole situation. It’s time like this yo go to blogs for coverage.

Gonzo Journal is a blog by someone who is currently in Thailand and are writing down what’s going on over there.

Metroblogging Bangkok is another Thai blog that cover the whole coup. Bangkok Pundit is a blog about Thailand that focus on Thai politics and problems in Southern Thailand.

As always, I’ll go to blogs and Flickr first then the mainstream news media.

From all the blog, it seems that the situation over there are pretty much stable. It’s a peaceful Coup D’etat. Looks like they have been planing this for sometime and are just waiting for the right moment to act. Hope everything goes peacefully and Thai citizens may elect a new better government.
