In a time of war, terrorist threat and suffering, it is a refreshing pleasure to have received this piece on my feed reader today (from Centripetal Notion a fine blog on art and design). A YouTube video of a little giant girl who woke up one morning, got a shower from the Sultans Elephant and wandered off to play in the park.

So beautiful I’ve decided to share it.

This is one of the most interesting artistic performance art creation I have ever seen. It takes an amazing effort of all who are involve, a collective performance, just to share a visual idea. I find the the video together with the music very touching.

The performance, a story of a time-traveling elephant and a little girl took place in London somewhere around May of 2006. Created by the theatrical magicians Royal de Luxe. To know about the story, check out the official site of the Sultan’s Elephant, download the four PDF supplement files.

The show will appear again in Calais 28 September - 1 October and in Le Havre 26 - 29 October 2006. I wish I could be there to experience it myself.
