According to IT-Sideways, the MSC (Multimedia Super Corridor) is undergoing a re-branding exercise. It all ties in with the 9th Malaysian plan, and billions of RM is being allocated for it (I’m too lazy to Google up the actual amount, sorry).

Now it is known as ‘MSC Malaysia’, and according to IT-Sideways again, they have pretty much improved, and the biggest improvement visibly is its web site www.msc.com.my.

It’s pretty good, in information and content wise (I didn’t saw the previous site). I also notice they got ‘highlights’ and some latest news about MSC on the main page, but where is the RSS feed? (or Atom feed or whatever web feed format there is).

How do I keep track of latest news about MSC? Seriously, you don’t expect me to keep visiting the site even if there are no updates now do you? In this day and age, nobody uses the web browser to keep track of updates and what’s happening. Feed readers.

Here is an idea for MSC Malaysia’s re-branding, if just incase there are any MSC folks reading this blog (I strongly doubt it), create an official MSC Malaysia blog. Hire a MSC evangelist to maintain it, a sort of ‘Robert Scoble‘ of the MSC.

The same goes with other ICT organizations. Start blogging now. Keep on reading if you are still interested in why having a blog could help your cooperation or organization.

  1. A blog opens the line of communication between your organization to your customer or your target audiences, people who you want them to know about you. With trackbacks, pings, and commenting system, it’s a two way communication, unlike traditional media such as television or newspaper.
  2. A Blog feels more human, unlike some brainwashing promotional material being conjure up by a team of marketing staff. The occasional spelling mistake, and some incorrect grammar here and there gives a blog a human touch. I makes you feel that you are interacting with people and not organization.
  3. A blog makes the organization look busy. You know stuff is going on with in an organization well, because you read it on it’s blog. A more transparent organization.

If you are still interested in how blogs can benefit your organization read on this book, Naked Conversations by Robert Scoble and Shel Israel.

Naked Conversations

Don’t take my word on it, just look at some of the big boys who’s doing it, Google has it’s official blog, Microsoft have it’s whole channel 9 propaganda.

So if there happens to be any CEO, CTO, of any Malaysian ICT company MSC or whatever, start blogging. Be more transparent. If your ICT organization do have a blog, let me know.
