New service from Google, the Google Pages Creator, a free dynamic web authoring tool. The service will let you publish your site to yourname.googlepages.com. Sign up with your Gmail account and you are ready to go with 100 MB of web space.

Google Pages Creator tries to make creating web pages as easy as writing a document in a word processor. It’s web base, so you could do all this in your web browser. The Gmail like interface is very responsive, it feels like you are working on a software rather then on a website. Good work on the DHTML, JavaScript, Ajax, or what ever it is they are calling it this days.

Image file uploading and inserting is also easy enough. You could either upload your image file or have it hot-link. You can upload your photos at Flickr and use the link address to link it. You can choose 4 sizes of how the image is going to be displayed, small, medium, large, and original size. You can drag the image around to place it. I could see people using this to create their fancy online photo gallery or something.

There are a handful of themes, but doesn’t look as well design as, say Apple’s iWeb, but then again Google Pages Creator is free.

I’ve played around with it and I do think non-technical people will pick it up quick and going to love it. Those hand coder people will still stick with their text editors.

I’ve created a test page, Jibone Home Page. Seeing that this service is hot from the oven, visiting the page I’ve created will sometime result on a 404 error. Just try it a few times.

This product so does almost all of Google products, are currently in “Beta�.
