Computer Wizardry, Esoteric Spirituality, and Mind-altering Substances

Just trying out Simple Thoughts’ Wordpress translator plugin. It provides automatic real-time machine translation of my blog entries (written in English). Right now it translates into eight different languages, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Simplified).
Blog.Jiboneus now is available in nine languages. You can bookmark this :-
Thinking of adding Malay language in it.
The translation is of cause done dynamically and algorithmically, therefore it’s a little bit off. I really like to see real time translation to become common in the future. Imagine you could be instant messaging someone in spain and the IM client translate it really time. The person type in spanish and when the message reach your end it’s Malay or Mandarin or anything.
To take a step further, imagine a real time translation on your voice. You could be on the phone to someone in Japan and you could be speaking Italian but on the other end your voice is translated to Japanese. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful world where everybody understand each other?
Well that future is still a long way, for right now we have to settle to Google language tools, AltaVista babelfish and this plugin.

I am impressed… actually it works the same as Google and Yahoo language translation tool; the end result is rather structured-biased, like you said, it is kinda of off. I have checked the Chinese simplified version and found if someone is not technically inclined, understanding will be a challenge.
But a good thing indeed, this is only available for full fledge wordpress right ? I mean for free user from wordpress.com will not enjoy the facility isn’t ?
I’m not so sure about that, I think Wordpress.com only lets you use plugins that they (the Wordpress.com guys) has already install. So I guess it’s a no then.
