How to spot a Web 2.0 website

How do you know if a website is Web 2.0 or not? With the all the buzz going around, how do you differentiate a web service is a Web 2.0 or just plain old Web 1.0? I’ve been doing some research and found that people over at Go Flock Yourself, had really nail it down. Some of the things you should look for in order to find out if a web service is Web 2.0 or not are:

  1. The site uses big fonts
  2. It’s BETA
  3. The service is related to podcasting or there are podcast about the service which was done by the same people who did the service.
  4. The site design uses only pastel color palette.
  5. Rounded corners.
  6. Has at least one RSS feed
  7. Buzzword content.
